What you need
- A CR2032 button battery (sold at pharmacies and supermarkets).
- A small Phillips screwdriver, the kind for glasses or phones.
- A toothpick or an opened paperclip, in case it needs a reset.
Tamagotchi Connection (V1 through V6) uses one CR2032. Other models may use a different battery: check what the inside of the lid says, or the old battery.
Step by step
- Flip the Tamagotchi over. The battery lid is on the back, with a small screw.
- Remove the screw carefully and keep it safe: it's very easy to lose.
- Take off the lid and the old battery. If the battery is swollen or has white powder on it, wipe it with a dry cloth.
- Put the new battery in with the lettered side (the “+”) facing up, like the old one was.
- Close the lid and put the screw back without over-tightening, so you don't damage the thread.
If the screen won't turn on
- Make sure the battery is in right, with the “+” facing up.
- Look on the back for the reset button (a tiny hole labeled “Reset”) and press it with the toothpick for a second.
- Try another new battery: sometimes they come drained from the store.
When you change the battery or reset, the Tamagotchi starts over with a new egg. That's normal.
At FaztGo
When a Tamagotchi says “new battery” in the title, it already comes with the battery replaced.
